Manic Wednesday Cooking: Salsa

I was lucky enough to go produce shopping at Russo’s market in Watertown on Sunday.  Grilled corn + perfectly ripe avocados + fresh cilantro + orange.

Cape Cod Weekend

Image

Saturday morning at Marconi Beach. Perfect weather. The waves were small but fun. Off season Cape Cod is so quiet.

We kind of took over the parking lot after our session.

On Sunday we hit Coast Guard beach. The waves were about a foot high and breaking in roughly 3 feet of water. Still.. they were hard to catch so we got a workout. Exercise, ocean, sunshine. By the time we left there were about a dozen other surfers trying to catch those itty bitty wavelets. Too beautiful a day to stay away.

Pretty things from the ocean.

Origami Unicorn

ImageI figured I should start off by doing this blog’s name justice. I spent about 2 hours looking up origami unicorn instructions on the web. I attempted to follow the video instructions for John Montroll’s unicorn but I got left in the dust a few minutes into it. Instead I opted for what is supposed to be the Blade Runner unicorn (I’m skeptical). It’s not purist origami – two pieces of paper and the horn is attached separately. I will eventually purchase John Montroll’s book Mythological Creatures and the Chinese Zodiac in Origami – which I should have in my collection anyway – and make a more authentic origami unicorn.

Coming Soon

Stay tuned for posts and pictures starting this weekend….
