Arrival in Tokyo

I spent pretty much my entire birthday preparing to travel and traveling. By the time I set foot back on the ground my birthday was over…. but I couldn’t have asked for a better day.

12+ hours in the air is a long time.  Once we landed we still had a ride from the airport to the hotel that took a little over an hour.   Then we checked into our room, which is half western and half traditional with a spectacular view of Tokyo.

After that we met with our tour guide who gave us a quick overview of how to get around Nakano.   Then we slurped Soba noodles while standing at the counter of a small shop on a busy Nakano corner.  おいしいかった です！Everything is weird and colorful and a little surreal…  like I dreamed it would be. 

I have been up for awhile.  Time to get some rest.
